The Indian vehicle market has witnessed a significant transformation with the inclusion of four-wheelers within the Automotive Industry Standard (AIS), particularly the End-of-Life (ELV) standard known as AIS-129, which had previously been applicable exclusively to two-wheelers. Indian OEMs exporting their vehicles in particular to Europe must also comply with the European End-of-life (ELV) regulation and their Reuse-Recycle-Recovery (RRR) requirements. To ensure compliance, vehicle manufacturers must focus on two primary aspects:

  • Stringent regulation for heavy metals, requiring that hazardous substances do not surpass the 0.1% threshold in their homogeneous materials.
  • The establishment of recycling performance standards for instance, minimum 85% Reuse+Recycling rate, and 95% adding Recovery rate for vehicles as designed.

Key Discussion Points:

  • Evolution of the Indian Vehicles Market and the India AIS-129 regulation.
  • India AIS-129 and EU ELV-RRR regulations comparison.
  • Materials Compliance requirements.
  • Materials Compliance Solution.
  • Live Demonstrations.
  • Upcoming advanced technologies to ensure safer mobility
